Doctoral student Rennan Mendes de Moraes dos Santos Dias, through the CAPES/PRINT/UERJ project, was at Texas A&M University (TAMU), in the United States, from 01/11/2023 to 30/04/2024, carrying out his Sandwich Doctorate. The activities carried out by the doctoral student took place under the scope of the project entitled “Environmental and Computational Modeling of Watersheds Representative of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest”, supervised by professors Antônio José da Silva Neto and Jader Lugon Júnior, in Brazil, and Raghavan Srinivasan and Yared Bayissa, in the United States. The general objective of the original project: to formulate and develop solutions to direct and inverse problems in the simulation of the transport and reactions of pollutants in water environments, with special emphasis on periods of minimum flows, and their consequences for water quality, as well as to quantify the uncertainties associated with the model’s input parameters.
