On September 23, 2021, doctoral student Lucas Jardim presents online the work entitled “Identification of Contact Failures in Multilayer Media via Inverse Problem and Artificial Neural Networks”, XIX Conference of the Spanish Association of Artificial Intelligence. This event was presented in hybrid format, as part of the VI Congress Español de Informática (CEDI), which brought together several other associations in the field of computer engineering.
In the work proposed by the doctoral student, an Artificial Neural Network is explored to solve the problem of inverse identification of contact failures between two materials. The network is modeled as an inverse problem, that is, it receives temperature data from the exposed surface of the medium and offers as output the profile of the materials that make up the adhesive layer. The results show that this is a promising approach due to the good precision and low computational cost observed for the numerical examples raised.
